January 22nd

I hope everyone is enjoying safe, warm and restful snow days!  Next week we will continue our Civil Rights Unit with a focus on key contributions of Martin Luther King, Jr. and John F. Kennedy, Jr.  We will also continue to learn  about non fiction text features as we compare and contrast JFK and Abraham Lincoln and use sequence to describe key events in the Civil Rights Movement.  We will continue to practice 3 and more digit addition and subtraction with regrouping applying the concept to balancing a checkbook.  Speaking and listening will focus on conversational skill, both social and vocational :  Am I talking too much? Am I talking too little? How to read the reactions of others in a conversation.  Hopefully, we will begin our scheduled Meteorology Unit this week.

Upcoming Dates:  Curriculum Night is Monday, January 22nd; CBI on Tuesday (January 23rd);  CBI on February 7th;  Special  Needs Dance on February 12th and  for our Seniors Prom is March 10th

Welcome Back!

Welcome Back!

I hope everyone had a restful and relaxing holiday break!

CBI is Monday, January 8th.  We will go to the theater to see “The Greatest Showman.”  In addition to practicing life skills (appropriate behaviors/engaging in leisure activities), we will also tie this CBI to our non-fiction unit which includes biographies.
